Pregnancy Update: Week 24

We are right on track to deliver via C-section on April 16th, 2010. One day earlier and we would have been able to nickname Dillon "Tax".

Pregnancy has been par for the course thus far. Tiffany still expects to see this one around 10lbs considering that Delaney was 8.4lbs at 2 weeks early. I'm quite sure Dillon is transverse - not that it means I'm considering a VBAC (vaginal delivering women - you're my hero!), just that I can tell he's laying differently than Delaney was. It's quite possible that Dillon will break my water early since it's already happened. Short body = not enough room for anyone!

I'm tracking to gain about 28-29lbs instead of the 37lbs the 1st go-around. More than likely since I'm lifting 25lbs around the house most evenings and all weekend long. Gotta love strength training! The c-section will be made in the exact same spot where they took Delaney so only one scar - hooray! Can't wait to be off then on maternity leave in the warmer months. Perhaps PPD will stay far far away this time.

Other than my lower back at a constant PITA, that's about it!

Delaney's First Christmas

My sister recently made a comment that this would be Delaney's 1st and last Christmas by herself. A little sad but she'll have so much fun with Dillon next year as he'll be crawling around like a mad man by then.

We try to have Delaney live a simple life. Santa (eh hem, Grandma) had other plans. Our condo now looks like the elves' workshop exploded and deposited all of the toys in our living room.

Happy 11 month Birthday, Delaney!

You've now been in our lives longer than I was pregnant with you - how time flies! You're growing up so very quickly and amazing us each day with words, signs, physical abilities and the love you show us, unconditionally.

One more month and you'll no longer be an infant. 4 more months and you'll no longer be an only child. 15 more years and 1 month and you'll be ::gulp!:: DRIVING!

Here's to you, boo boo. May your day with daddy today be bright and shiny on this snowy day.

Introducing: F-Bomb Restaurant

A recent conversation between 2 friends (a mother in her XXs and daughter in her 40s) on Facebook has me chuckling. What a great example of a clear generation gap. Out of the amusement, I found the name of a new restaurant that I'd like to open in Hilton Head (where Carol resides) called F-Bomb, in her honor.

Virtual Christmas!

Now this is more my style! Christmas for the virtual nuts out there. I can't wait to download the iPhone App for my niece and nephew. That'll keep 'em in line.

Answer a few questions and Santa will send you a letter within minutes!

Dear Trisha,

The Missus and I were wondering if we were going to hear from you this year. I've gotten letters from just about everyone else in Ohio .

Well, I'm getting ready for the big trip and Mrs. Claus has just finished knitting me a new scarf. With El Nino and La Nina, I never know what to expect. Snow in Australia...sunburn in Finland...and a little bit of everything in Ohio !!!

I'll ask the elves if they can pack the Healthy Baby Boy you requested. Since you've been an exceptionally good girl, of 32 years, I want to make sure that you are treated appropriately. And if you are really good from now until Christmas, I might even bring the Maid you asked for!

I better get going as I only have 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, and assuming I travel east to west this year. Besides, I need to clean up the mess that Rudolph has left! He's been drooling on the carpet for days thinking about all the cookies, carrots, egg nog and other goodies that the good boys and girls leave for us.

Peace on earth and good will to man. Ho Ho Ho !

Have a question for Santa (Julie will absolutely have several...eh hem...Barbie Dreamhouse, perhaps)? See what he has to say about that!

You'd better shape up - Santa's a callin'!

What really goes on behind closed doors? Are we really ready to spill the beans to all those little girls and boys? Sorta takes the fun out of the mystery, no?

Track Santa on his journey. Of course, EVERYONE knows that Santa can't seriously make it to all of the houses - especially those that are surrounded by quick sand. That's why he has a bit of help with all of those imposters out there. The REAL Santa was just a Polaris Mall, don't ya know.

Delaney's 10mo Milestones

I can't believe how much she changes every day. Craig hasn't been doing a great job at letting me know when she's picked up on something new so each experience I have with her, I think it's the first time. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, though!

What new words is she saying?
  • Dat (What's that? - as she points)
  • Pet (pet the dog/cat/something soft)
  • Dit (Bandit)
  • Ssssss (Smokey)
  • Sue (Shoe)
  • Yep (Yes - although, I'm not sure she knows exactly what it means)
  • Hi
  • Papa
What can she point out?
  • Lots of body parts: Ears, eyes, nose, hair, belly, toes, legs, knees, head, chin
  • Animals: Dog, cat (maybe horse and cow but we don't have those in the house too much)
  • Christmas Tree
  • Car
New Signs?
  • Baby
Fun things
  • She plays peek-a-boo back with us
  • Answers anything resembling a phone and says "elllll0"
  • Gives "Big Hugs"
  • Snuggles with cats
  • Lays down on anything soft or silky pretending to go "night night"
  • Takes 2 steps
  • Sings "na na na na"
  • Dances to any type of beat
  • Goes nuts over the Hot Dog Dance on Mickey's Clubhouse
